Fans of the Ciao Mambo Italian Restaurant chain will now have to travel to find their restaurant's locations as the only remaining Ciao Mambo location in the Inland Northwest has gone out of business. The location which is at 818 W. Riverside Ave. , a block away from both the STA bus plaza and River Park Square made no announcement of the impending closure and only posted a sign on the now closed restaurant today.
Ciao Mambo is a chain of Italian Restaurants owned and operated by the Montana based Glacier Restaurant Group. The Downtown Spokane location appears to be the only closure in the small chain. Ciao Mambo also once ran a location in Hayden,Id before that too went out of business. The former Hayden location briefly became a local restaurant before that too closed. Today, that space along Government Way in Hayden remains empty, although there are a few rumors around the space.
The Inlander's blogs are saying that the restaurant owner's are planning to convert the space into a new Mackenzie River Pizza Co. , another larger chain which is also owned by Glacier Restaurant Group. No word as to if and when the switch to Mackenzie River might happen, but we will be watching.
Mackenzie River Pizza Co. already has 2 locations in Spokane , at 9225 N. Nevada St and 2910 E. 57th Ave. . Another Mackenzie River location is also open and recently remodeled in Coeur d' Alene at the corner of US 95 and Canfield Ave.
