The Kroc Center only opened a few years ago, but the center is already a Coeur d' Alene landmark far outpacing the amount of members that the center was projected to have when it was originally estimated.
And now the Community Center has announced another new expansion to the building which is operated as a non profit venture by Salvation Army. The last expansion at the building was to construct a 2 story parking garage on the Southwestern Edge of the property. This expansion however will be to the main building and promises to be bigger then the last.
The new expansion will create about 2,700 square feet of new floor space to the Kroc Center . The new 2,700 square feet will be for use by the center's fitness programs and will be added on to the west side of the existing building.
Construction is set to begin soon and an opening date is currently scheduled for Jan. 2014. Included in the new area will be:
-New additional state of the art fitness equipment
-New cardio fitness equipment
-New dumbbell racks
-Hammer Strength Weight Equipment
- 2 semi private fitness consultation rooms
-8 station multi jungle training unit
The Kroc Center is a venture of the Salvation Army and was built using funds from a sizable donation from Ray and Joan Kroc, the founding family behind the McDonald's chain. The Center which is located at 1765 W. Golf Course Rd. ( corner of Golf Course Rd. and Ramsey Rd ) in Coeur d' Alene features not only an extensive fitness area but also indoor aquatics, meeting space, performance space, a coffee shop , basketball court , child care , indoor rock climbing area and more.
The Kroc Center does offer memberships for a fee. However some scholarship opportunities are available, as are day passes.
