" Changing business needs " is the only reason given behind a massive lay off planned for the coming months at the Liberty Lake Center Partners call center. Center Partners, a Fort Collins, Colo. based inbound and outbound call center operator plans to lay off 578 employees at it's center in Liberty Lake.
Locally the layoffs effect only the Liberty Lake Center Partners site as there are no plans for the time being to do layoffs / closures at the companies 2 other call centers located on Ironwood Way in Coeur d' Alene and off of Prairie Ave in Hayden. The Liberty Lake site is located in the former Telect building on N. Madison St. This call center is the newest of the companies local centers, opening in 2011.
Another local area Center Partners office in Post Falls also closed in the past couple of years however it is believed many of the Post Falls site's employees we're transferred to other locations in the area. Today's layoff announcement also includes jobs in the companies HQ city of Fort Collins,Colo. . In Fort Collins some 600 employees are planned to be laid off and one site closed.
The layoffs at the Liberty Lake site will take place by Oct. 1st of this year.
While the layoffs are a hit for the local economy and job market it is noteworthy that Provo, Utah based Vivint, Inc. recently announced plans to open a call center in Liberty Lake for it's home automation company.
