For years , tucked away as little more then small shop in the corner of a gas station / convenience store was Longboard Burgers. In many case a small local business like this would attract little attention , but not Longboard Burgers. The small shop became a favorite of many only to eventually close up shop a couple of years ago.
The space was then filled by a short lived BBQ restaurant and most recently a lunch counter of sorts called Alice's Grill . But now Alice's Grill is closed and , in a way , Longboard Burgers is making a return. The owner and the food is promised to be the same. The name however, is not, The new eatery will now be called The Surf Shack.
The Surf Shack will still have burgers with, as the restaurants web site says " fresh Southern California flavor right here in the Inland Northwest. Every burger handcrafted with passion and love. " . Other then a large selection of burgers, the menu also has several Philly Sandwiches along with other sandwiches , drinks and French fries.
Prices are reasonable at the new business as well with burgers starting at 2.49 and all items comparable to other area quick service restaurants.
As fore mentioned , The Surf Shack will be located in Longboard Burgers old location. That location is inside the A & D Mini Mart at the corner of 4th St. and Appleway in Coeur d' Alene. About 1 block north of the I-90 4th St. exit. Their Address is 356 E. Appleway Coeur d' Alene.
The Surf Shack opens to the public on Saturday July 27th.
