Founded in the fall of 1993 , The Inlander , Spokane's alternative weekly newspaper has become a staple in the Spokane community. With award winning journalism and stories that aren't covered by the primary news sources.
And it's partly because of this that The Inlander continues to grow while other newspapers fail. In fact today the paper is one of most read urban weeklies in the nation. And with that growth has come more content and more employees. One of the biggest reasons behind last week's official opening of the The Inlander's new permanent home in Kendall Yards.
The Inlander is the first office tenant for the much talked about , Kendall Yards development , across the Spokane River from Downtown. The paper is located in a brand new building directly on the river at 1227 W. Summit Pkwy. and next door to the new location of Spa Paradiso.
The Inlander is also paving the way for many new tenants coming to Kendall Yards in the coming months and years. Commercially, Kendall Yards will soon include 3 more yet to be named local restaurant's , a grocery store , a selection of small and/or service businesses and even more office tenants.
The Inlander itself is setting milestones as the paper will mark their 20th anniversary in October of this year and the new office location marks the first time the paper's offices have been in a building actually owned by the paper. In all of The Inlander's first 20 years the paper has been located in leased office space with the last location being inside the Hutton Building at 9 S. Washington St.
