Another new chain is coming to River Park Square. That new business is a growing women's athletic store called Athleta.
Athleta, is a chain on it's own but still a branch off of San Fransisco based Gap Inc. . Athleta was created in 2009 and today is expanding into many new market's , including here in Spokane. It is also of note that the chain is similar to Lululemon , a Canadian athletic retailer who is also re-located it's Spokane store to a site directly across the street from River Park Square on the ground floor of the Crescent Court building.
Athleta, sells women's active wear and yoga appeal . The business says it's clothing performance driven and in sweet ,feminine designs. The chain markets itself using the motto " the power of she ".
The new store in Spokane will be located on the 2nd floor of River Park Square in the remaining half of the former Abercromie & Fitch storefront. The other half of that store was leased out earlier this year with the opening of the new Sephora cosmetics store. There is no official opening date for the Athleta store however a sign posted on the future store site gives some indication saying " coming Winter 2013 ".
