The West Plains area west of Spokane is , just like it's been for awhile now , the place to be for new developments. And one West Plains area is taking off with 4 major construction projects in various phases of development . That area is the area with a short radius of the I-90 Geiger Blvd. / Grove Rd. and here is a look at what we now about what is coming....
New regional office/warehouse for Odom Corp.
Odom Corp. , a well known Bellevue, Wa. based distributorship for beer's / wine's and soda pop products is planning to expand it's reach in the Spokane market with a brand new warehouse to be built at 4122 S. Grove Rd. .
The new Odom Corp. facility will actually be right across the road for the companies current smaller facility. The company leases the current building and will own the new building which will include over 200,000 square feet of space that will mostly be used for warehouse and work space. However some office space is also planned in the new building.
Odom plans to work thru the winter on the new building with hopes of opening the new center by April of 2014. The building is estimated to cost around $20 million and create around 20 new local jobs.
Thermo King Northwest planning new service center.
Thermo King Northwest is in the construction process of a brand new 23,000 square foot service facility at 10211 W. Westbow Rd. . The business will move to it's new facility from a smaller site in Spokane Valley.
Thermo King Northwest is a division of the larger Thermo King , the Spokane facility repairs Thermo King refrigeration units which are installed on semi and other large trucks.
Wemco planning large new factory.
Wemco a local company that does work in the hydro electric industry, is planning a large new facility nearby where the Odom Corp. project is in the works. The new Wemco project is to include a new 56,000 square foot industrial building with 20,000 square feet dedicated to assembly and production and 20,000 square feet of machine shop space. New offices are also planned at the site.
Currently Wemco is located on Craig Rd. in nearby Airway Heights.
Utility Trailers of Spokane building new facility.
Utility Trailers of Idaho is planning it's first location in Washington and will operate locally as Utility Trailers of Spokane. Along with the new business will be an all new facility which the company will build at 10401 W. Westbow Rd. very close by the Thermo King Northwest site.
Utility Trailers of Spokane will open in the Spring of 2014 and will occupy a 26,000 square foot building . The business does primarily service work on trailers.
