Theodore's
We have very limited details, but we do know that a restaurant called Theodore's is planning to open inside Coeur d' Alene's Roosevelt Inn. The Roosevelt and now Theodore's are located at 105 E. Wallace in Downtown Coeur d' Alene. The hotel was made relatively famous last year by it's appearance on the FOX reality TV show, Hotel Hell. Interestingly enough the hotel still has a room it calls the Gordon Ramsay Suite.
On Facebook Theodore's is described as serving American, French and Greek foods. We are hoping to hear more soon as opening day is currently set for May 23rd.
509 Grind
Indirectly 509 Grind also had it's 15 min of fame earlier this year. That's because 509 Grind is the new coffee drive up , with new ownership that's open in the former Coffee Break location at 1612 N. Barker Rd. in Spokane Valley. That coffee stand was the site of hate graffiti against the Asian owners. But it was later found out that the owner's themselves we're actually responsible for the graffiti.
The new 509 Grind is described as-
"A family owned and oriented drive-thru Espresso featuring specialty drinks and pastries with friendly customer service. "
Pizza Pipeline
The Pizza Pipeline pizza restaurant chain has relocated one of it's locations in Spokane Valley. The new Pizza Pipeline location is at 415 N. Sullivan Rd and is about 2,200 square feet and is now open.
Selkirk Pizza & Taproom
North Spokane is also getting a new option for fresh pizza with the coming opening of Selkirk Pizza & Taproom in the former home of Fat Daddy's , next the Village Center Cinemas, at 12424 N. Division St.
Selkirk will offer a whole new look with local ownership , full service bar and an outdoor dining area.
Ephata Café Juice & Java
Ephata Café Juice & Java is a new business opening, possibly in June at 1908 W. Northwest Blvd. in Spokane.
The Flying Pig
It's only been a couple of months since I posted about the December opening of The Pig's Pub a small bar inside the International District's Flying Pig Restaurant. And this just goes to show when a new local business opens how important it is to support it because The Flying Pig has now gone out of business.
The Flying Pig has been located at 1822 E. Sprague and this message regarding the closure was posted on the businesses Facebook page, which has since been deleted-
"To all our loyal pig customers:
We appreciate your patronage over the past three and a half years. Unfortunately the time has come for us to move on to the next phase of our lives. We will be closing The Flying Pig doors forever on Saturday March 29th at 2pm. Come in before then for your last fix of Flying Pig food!
Thank you all so much. We wish you all the best of luck! This has been a great experience for our family.
~ your flying pig friends,

Dragon House
Dragon House , a Chinese restaurant in Coeur d' Alene at 512 W. Appleway is closed. But Dragon House fans need not worry. That's because the restaurant is only remodeling and changing some menu items.
The restaurant intends to re-open by about Mother's Day this year.
Five Guys Burgers and Fries
Thank you to an alert INBW reader for pointing this one out to me. The Five Guys chain has closed their South Hill restaurant at 2525 E. 29th Ave Suite 6. We don't know the official reasoning but have heard that Albertson's may have taken over the property. All other Inland Northwest Five Guys locations are un-affected and remain open.
Mi Casa
It's looking real good for the Mexican restaurant options in Downtown Spokane. That's because there has been 2 new Mexican restaurants opening in the Downtown core in recent weeks.
The first of which is Mi Casa which is an authentic Mexican establishment nearby the STA Bus Plaza at 14 N. Post in the ground floor of the Peyton Building. Mi Casa also offers a full bar.
The other new Downtown Mexican Restaurant is...
Chapala Mexican Restaurant
Chapala actually already has one Spokane location (on Hamilton ) with the new addition of this Downtown location. We are told however the new Downtown Chapala has a different format then the original making this one more fast service. A good idea for Downtown workers.
Chapala is now open and can be found at the former Picnic Company Restaurant at the corner of 3rd & Howard.
