Not a lot of news happening with new restaurants right now. Although we are expected a few more openings and announcements soon, here is what we have for the time being...
Phillylicious
Opening over the spring in North Spokane, was a new local restaurant called Phillylicious. The new establishment is in the former Bruchi's location at 5422 N. Division and is actually owned by the same owner as the Bruchi's franchise that had been there.
Phillylicious is just like the name sounds, a restaurant that serves primarily Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. Rice bowls are also available.
Uncle Leroy's BBQ
Uncle Leroy's Competition BBQ is coming to Spokane Valley with an opening planned for the middle of July. The business will be located in small, almost house like structure at 206 S. Pines Rd in the Valley.
This new restaurant opening is in a way, a return of a restaurant actually as Uncle Leroy's was a vendor in the now out of business, Spokane Public Market in Downtown Spokane. The business was always one of the more popular tenants of the market and has even won awards for their Kansas City style BBQ.
In addition to the opening of the BBQ restaurant, Uncle Leroy's is planning to use the remainder of their lot for a new outdoor market called Spokane Valley Swap Meet & Farmers Market. The market which has already begun will feature some of the other former vendors at the Spokane Public Market. Including, The Scone Ranger, a scone business that was also a highlight of the Downtown market.
Uncle Leroy's BBQ will also host classes on Barbequing.
Marina's New York Deli
A small but already being talked a lot about New York style deli is now open in North Spokane. That new deli is called Marina's New York Deli and can be found at 9331 N. Division.
Marina's New York Deli serves several different types of sandwiches with many side choices. In addition, the business brings in it's marinara sauce directly from Brooklyn. But other then the marinara all other sauces, dressings ,pickles, etc... are made fresh in the restaurant.
Ash St. Tacos
Ash St. Tacos also opened in the spring of this year and is located at 6314 N. Ash St. in Northwest Spokane's Five Mile neighborhood.
The new taco restaurant is located right next door to the TonicX bar, which is owned by the same people as the new Ash St Tacos. Ash St. Tacos serves primarily street style tacos and was born out of a lack of dining choices in the heavly populated Five Mile area.
CorkHouse Kitchen + Bar
Gourmet food made from scratch daily is the basis behind the new Corkhouse that opened just last week in Liberty Lake. In fact, Corkhouse might be an easy to find place for Spokane foodies as the new restaurant is located in the former Barlow's Resturant building at 1400 N. Meadowwood Lane. Barlow's moved only a couple of months ago to a space directly on Liberty Lake Rd.
CorkHouse Kitchen + Bar is an American style restaurant primarily being lead in the kitchen by executive chef Brian Hutchins. The restaurant has a full menu with several wines and on tap beers ( 12 ), the business also doubles as a coffee shop with drive thru coffee's also available.
