The area around the corner of Sprague and Bowdish in Spokane Valley has already seen some changes over the last few months. The iconic Halpin's is now gone with a Complete Suite Furniture store now in it's space . And, Ringo's Little Vegas is now a business called The Member's Lounge / Mari Jane's Tap House.
But, now over on the Northwest side of the of the busy intersection even more changes are in the works. O' Reilly Auto Parts , a Springfield,MO based chain of auto parts stores with many stores already in the Spokane / Coeur d' Alene area ( including a couple close by this site, maybe one will move? ) will build a new store there.
The company has already purchased the land there and filed for building permits to build the new store. In the permit information it shows a 15,335 square foot store to be built at 11421 E. Sprague Ave. . This store is still early in process so no opening date or amount of employees have been released as of yet.
This new store has one interesting tidbit, in that the company will have to demolish a couple of businesses to make way for their new store. No businesses will close but some will relocate, here is who they are and where they are moving their businesses too-
Mike's Old Fashioned Donuts
Mike's Donuts, a long running donut shop has moved into newly remodeled space in the HiCo Plaza building at Sprague and Argonne, still in Spokane Valley.
Harmon Glass
The Spokane Valley location of Harmon Glass, a chain of auto glass shops will leave their current location ( also, 11421 E. Sprague Ave. ) for a new site at 7227 E. Sprague further towards Spokane.
Nearby at Sushi Sakai
Not far away from this new location, but not affected by the building construction work Sushi Sakai is also moving soon and will actually be relocating from Spokane Valley into Spokane.
Sushi Sakai will join a shopping center geared towards dining near Gonzaga at 829 E. Boone Ave.
