Hard Rock Spokane? Maybe, after Spokane Tribe signs L.O.I. for Airway Heights Casino

The Spokane Tribe of Indians has been in the process of developing a new hotel & casino in Airway Heights for a few years now. Because of it's status as "off reservation" and closeness to Fairchild AFB, etc.. it's taken some extra time to develop.

But, now the Tribe is starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel for the project which will also include a mixed use development. Recently the Tribe received ok from the federal government and now they are only waiting on Governor Inslee to give his final approval, something that may take a few months.

And, today's news is yet another huge step forward for what could be a huge project for the Spokane region. And, in another way is plain cool... The Spokane Tribe has signed a letter of intent with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino chain to brand their new project in Spokane under the Hard Rock name.

Hard Rock Hotels are usually popular entertainment destinations with a unique, modern look and music memorabilia. Financial details we're not released in today's announcement. Nor, was it announced wither or not the Spokane Hard Rock location will include an iconic Hard Rock Café restaurant. We expect to hear more in the coming months.

As mentioned before the project is currently awaiting Gov. Inslee's approval only. A rep. with the project say they have no official timeline for construction yet, but should start work very shortly after getting the final state level approval.

Here is a look at what the finished product may look like once this new casino is open for business-

If approved the casino and accompanying development will be built on a 145 acre site at the corner of US Hwy 2 and Craig Rd. in Airway Heights. We will follow up on more of what is planned soon, likely after the approval or denial comes in. But until then for more information visit the STEP ( Spokane Tribe Economic Project ) web site at-
