784 Clearwater Lp in Post Falls' Riversbend Corporate Park has sat empty for quite sometime. Ever since Center Partners ( now known as Qualfon ) moved their T-Mobile call center across the state line to Liberty Lake. But it looks like a planned significant remodel and a new tenant may mean life ( and jobs... ) will return to the single story modern office building.
The building will now house a company called Corporate Tools which will actually be based out of the building. We don't have all the details on what the company will do and how many new jobs this facility will create and are still waiting to hear back from the company for the answers. But, here is what we do know....
Corporate Tools' tenant improvement is currently out to bid for construction with Vandervert Construction on Spokane as the general contractor. The business will likely occupy the entire 28,375 square foot building with the offices themselves being designed by HDG Architecture, also of Spokane. The plans show the building being divided into a main office space and a " Suite B " but based on some other info it looks like both will be used by Corporate Tools.
The interior of the building be completely re-done and a section of the back parking lot will be removed for sports courts. No where does it mention how many people will work for Corporate Tools, However the company's page on LinkedIn says they employ between 201-500 and since they are not open yet we assume they will be creating quite a few new local jobs. In fact the company's website also lists many openings from higher level management down to phone support, data entry and more.
Corporate Tools says on their website they provide entity management software, and assist in corporate filing. They also provide full back office support with calls, billing , collections and more. New shopping center called Ponderosa Village planned in Spokane Valley
A mix of new retail, restaurants and more will be included in a new multi-building shopping center development coming soon to the 11200 block of S. Dishman-Mica Rd in Spokane Valley. The new development will be called Ponderosa Village and will consist of several commercial units in 5 buildings all surrounding an already existing anchor store. In all there will be somewhere between 25-30,000 square feet of new leasable commercial space created.
The buildings will be to the west and south of Barney's Harvest Foods grocery store which also has an in house True Value hardware store. There are no tenants signed on to the new buildings but the developers are seeking out potential businesses that would make a good fit for the area. Construction will likely begin in the Spring but the exact timeline for construction / opening is still being worked out.
A small bar that had been on the site along Dishman Mica Rd will be demolished to make way for the development. Three of the new buildings will be along Dishman Mica Rd and 2 more northerly, closer to E. 40th St. . More details coming out about Incrediburger & Eggs coming soon to Downtown Spokane
Back in August we first learned of Chef Adam Hegsted's newest restaurant planned to open soon in the heart of Downtown Spokane. That new place will be a more casual burger focused restaurant called Incrediburger & Eggs and now flash forward to December and we're now learning even more about Incrediburger and it's gets cooler and cooler every time we hear about it.
Incrediburger & Eggs will open sometime in January ( watch for the opening date... ) at 909 W 1st Ave in what was last Dempsey's Brass Rail bar. The name is kind of self explanatory but the menu will consist of mostly burgers and eggs. In fact they will be hand pressed umami seasoned burgers and egg sandwiches along with side dishes, adult beverages all while using as much locally sourced products as possible.
Recently, Incrediburger & Eggs gave a sneak peak at their menu of Facebook and let's just say these aren't your grandfathers burgers. Sure they have a classic burger but they'll also have a PB & J burger, something called PigMac and for those not into burgers you'll find something too with a couple of the sandwiches using fish and quite possibly the best sounding thing on the menu a Korean Honey Butter Fried Chicken! And, the side dishes are just as cool with items like beef fat French fries and wait for it... Vodka battered onion rings!
That's just a sample of what we'll see from Incrediburger & Eggs when it opens next month. And, I think this one will defiantly deserve a review from Inland Northwest Business Watch!

Spokane's first food hall likely to open in 2018
In case you haven't been following the culinary trends recently you've likely missed "food halls" . Food halls are concept originating in Europe that's sort of like a food court only way more awesome. And, it looks like our first food hall will come in 2018 with the recently discovered renovation plans for a building in Downtown Spokane.
The Umpqua Bank building ( formerly Sterling Savings Bank's HQ ) at 111 N. Wall was recently sold to a couple of developers from Seattle. One being Interurban Development who Rob Brewster is a part of. Some may remember Brewster for his involvement in several other development projects around Spokane a few years ago. His Interurban Development in more recent years successfully re-developed a handful of buildings in Seattle and Portland. But, for his next project he and a company called Confluent Development have there sights set on the aforementioned Umpqua Bank Building here in Spokane.
Their plans call for keeping the upper floors ( 2-5 ) as office space while hopefully attracting a new mix of creative tenants. But the first floor is where the most exciting portion of the project will happen. The bank moved their branch to a new space on W. Main a few months ago leaving that space as a blank slate.
Currently in the pre-development conference state of the project the new developers are calling for a complete renovation into a food hall / market space with the project going by the name Alexander Goods Depot / Market Hall. The space would contain 14 eateries all using 2 shared commissary style kitchens. Likely these would all be new locally owned and operated businesses serving a wide array of foods.
The plans even call for a small ( 1066 square foot ) grocery store. There are no tenant names on the plans however so we expect all of that news later in the development process. If all goes as currently planned construction would start in the Spring with an opening in the Fall of 2018.
Interurban Development is also planning on converting the abandoned former McKinley School building in East Central Spokane into a space with restaurants , entertainment venues , breweries and the like. We hope to have more info on that project in the coming months as well.

Praxis Coworking to open in Downtown Spokane
More co-working space is on it's way to the Lilac City. The latest is a new locally owned and operated venture which will be called Praxis Coworking.
Praxis Coworking is under construction now with an opening date set for Jan. 3rd, 2018 . The new facility will occupy a 3500 square foot space on the fourth floor of the Holley Mason Building. And, if the adage location, location, location is true Praxis will be success as it'll be just a short walk from all of Downtown Spokane and easy public transit access. Starbucks to build new store close to new northside Costco
Signs are up and after a couple of delays the construction is beginning for the new Costco store coming soon to the 12000 blk of N. Newport Hwy. That store will replace a smaller Costco on N. Division and as it would turn out it's not going to be the only commercial construction site in the area.
That's because a project is going out to bid now for a new freestanding Starbucks Coffee location on a pad site of the Pinewater Plaza shopping center. The new coffee shop's address will be 10919 N. Newport Hwy. and will be directly south of Frank's Diner.

Altitude Trampoline Park to open in former Safeway on Argonne
Another chain of indoor trampoline parks is coming to Spokane. Colleyville,TX based trampoline park company Altitude Trampoline Park has entered into an agreement with a local franchise owner, Brandon & Kendra Gadish to open a location in Spokane Valley.
The new Spokane Valley Altitude Trampoline Park will take the place of the former Safeway store at 1441 N. Argonne Rd. A good amount of remodeling work will be done the building, which is about a block south of I-90. As of now the new business will open sometime in the Spring of 2018 and will be about 32,000 square feet.
The new Altitude Trampoline Park will encompass a large interconnection of wall to wall trampolines and cutting edge attractions for the amusement and exercise of all guests regardless of their age. There will be a kids zone, foam pits, trapeze , basketball dunking lanes , a rock wall and even something not done before in our area: a laser maze over trampolines.

A new Chinese restaurant will be opening soon at the Lincoln Heights Shopping Center on the South Hill. The new restaurant will be a locally owned and operated establishment called Chef Lu's Asian Bistro.
The restaurant will specialize in Sichuan cooking and will also have a full liquor license and a sushi bar. Chef Lu's will take the place that was last used by the Costa Vida chain who closed and consolated that location in with their new Valley location at Sprague & Sullivan. The new restaurant will open next month.

Kickstarter on now to get a brick & mortar location for Culture Breads.
Culture Breads is already an operating locally owned and operated baking operation supplying breads to a few local locations, including Rocket Market on the South Hill. Culture Breads now wants to take the next step in opening a brick & mortar location which is actually already being built in a formerly vacant building in the South Perry District.
Culture Breads takes breads seriously as part of the new location they have launched a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter to purchase a unique wood fired oven and stone grain mill and more. The Kickstarter campaign which I will link to at the bottom of this article currently has raised a little over $9,000 of a $20,000 goal. The Kickstarter is for " all or nothing " and needs to be funded by Dec. 13th at 11:03 PST.

Newark and will be a full bakery baking products using grains grown on farms on the Palouse, meaning the new bakery will also provide more jobs and income locally in addition to bread and baked goods.. The space will also be shared with a new microbrewery called Grain Shed Brewing, which we don't really have much info on.

North Idaho Dermatology building a new 3 story building in Riverstone
Construction has started in the Merrit Creek office park area of Riverstone in Coeur d' Alene for a new office building that will be quite a bit larger then what is there now. The site is visible from Northwest Blvd. and will be used by a growing dermatology practice that is planning on replacing a clinic they already have nearby.

Details about the new restaurants coming to the Spokane Tribe Casino
The Spokane Tribe of Indians says they are now about 85% complete on their new Spokane Tribe Casino by the corner of US 2 & Craig Rd in Airway Heights. They aren't saying when their opening date is just yet other then it will be by the end of the year. However, worldcasinodirectory.com says their opening date will be Dec. 29th but while that site is not official the date does seem to make sense, we will see...

Whaluks
Named for a traditional tribal card game played by generations of the Spokane Tribe. Whaluks will be a bar serving cocktails, beer and wines and will be open daily from 9am-2am
Speelya's Den
A deli with many grab & go items in addition to scratch made gourmet desserts. Speelya's Den will also serve locally roasted espresso and will have long hours being open from 6am-3am.
These will be the 3 places at the Spokane Tribe Casino when it opens. However they say the Casino as is, is just the first phase of what will one day be a large resort complex. The Casino when it first opens will be about 38,000 square feet and offer 450 slots and 12 table games. It is also next to the Tribe's other business venture, Spokofuel , a gas station that includes an Arby's franchise.

Cochinito Taqueria coming to Downtown Spokane
A cool new locally owned and operated fast casual taco shop is coming soon to Downtown Spokane. And, it's from a chef that's already built a name for himself in the local culinary scene. The new place will be called Cochinito Taqueria and is a venture from Chef Travis Dickinson who was the executive chef from Clover.
Cochinito will be serve tacos, Mexican bowls and more using high quality meats and ingredients served up fresh. Beer, wine and cocktails will also be available. A few entrees will also be available and all and at a cheaper price point then the sit down Mexican restaurants.
The business will be on the ground floor of the Peyton Building at 10 N. Post, next door the Volstead Act bar and around the corner from the STA plaza. The new restaurant will be open for both lunch and dinner and is expected to open in February.

Cochinito will be serve tacos, Mexican bowls and more using high quality meats and ingredients served up fresh. Beer, wine and cocktails will also be available. A few entrees will also be available and all and at a cheaper price point then the sit down Mexican restaurants.
The business will be on the ground floor of the Peyton Building at 10 N. Post, next door the Volstead Act bar and around the corner from the STA plaza. The new restaurant will be open for both lunch and dinner and is expected to open in February.

Chronic Tacos opens for business in Downtown Spokane
We've been watching and waiting all Summer for the Spokane area's first Chronic Tacos location to open. And, now the time has come as the popular Southern California based chain had their first day open just today.
Chronic Tacos can be found in a 2000 sq. foot storefront in the Bennett Block building at 524 W. Main. Right next door to the new Carhartt outlet store and just down from River Park Square. This is one of about 50 locations for the fast growing chain and the company has only been operating since 2002. The Spokane location has a beer and wine license, seating for 30 and they hope to have a patio when the warmer months come.
Their menu is made up tacos, burritos, " bowl-ritos " and more made fresh using third generation recipes. Chronic Taco's restaurants are laid back places using the motto of the " taco life " .Catering services will also be available upon request and some menu items are available vegetarian and / or gluten free, please contact the restaurant directly for more info.

Historic Downtown building re-opens as a new apartment building called SoDo Commons
The building at 410 W. 3rd Ave in Spokane's SoDo area has been apartments for a long time. But, the building, which was known as the Danmore Apartments has undergone a top to bottom renovation and has now re-opened as a exciting hip new apartment complex called SoDo Commons.
Even the outside has been transformed and now the exterior totes a dark red and black look that really makes the building stand out. The renovations come after the building was acquired by Chris Batten, a local developer who owns RenCorp Realty,LLC . As part of Batten's renovations the building has been converted to " micro apartments ". SoDo Commons has 32 such apartments, all studio units which are 350-450 square feet and will be available for move in at the beginning of December.
The apartments at SoDo Commons feature exposed brick, hardwood floors, euro style cabinets with quartz counters, stainless appliances and dishwashers. There has also been a number of upgrades to the bathrooms as well. The entire building has a totally different vibe and will surely prove attractive to those looking for apartments in Downtown Spokane.
The building itself now has a clubroom, workout facility , onsite laundry, secure entry with 24 hour video surveillance and a common outdoor patio with grill. But, while the building is cool, the location makes it all worth while with the Downtown core within walking distance. The schools that make up the University District are just a short drive away and public transit via STA is everywhere in the area.
The re-development of this building is just one of three projects aimed at breathing new life in this section of Downtown Spokane. Directly next door HDG Architecture recently renovated the building that once housed Carr's Corner bar into new offices for them and their sister company Propaganda Creative and a selection of other business tenants. Just feet away from there at 327 W. 3rd Ave. another ownership change has resulted in a renovations to that building as well. That building is being called the Third & Washington Building and still features some of the same business tenants but also has a large space for lease where they are hoping to lure a new restaurant tenant.

Mac Daddy's Pub & Grill is now open in North Spokane
As you may recall we we're one of the first to announce that the popular event food vendor Mac Daddy's was opening a permanent restaurant. And, now I can report that that new restaurant called Mac Daddy's Pub & Grill is complete and is now open for business.
Mac Daddy's is known for delicious mac & cheese and menu items with mac & cheese on them and this new restaurant is no different. Mac Daddy's Pub & Grill has all the same items of the vendor booth but now much more. And, they are also now a full bar, 12 taps of beer and several TVs to watch most any sports games.
The food menu consists of several mac & chesses like Buffalo Chicken Mac and Spicy Mac. There is also a few burgers, sausages, salads in addition a few appetizers like deep fried mac & cheese balls and edamame. While mac & cheese is obviously the staple item of Mac Daddy's you don't have to like it to eat there as several items are just standard sports bar fare. Regardless of what you get it's all delicious.

Geeksnglory gaming bar now open in Spokane Valley
Are you a gamer? Then you'll want to check out a new business in Spokane Valley. The new business is a gaming bar called Geeksnglory which is now open next door to Taco Time at 6710 E. Sprague Ave.
Geeksnglory has a full bar for most any drink and some snacks. But the highlight of the place is the gaming. Throughout the entire building are both new and retro gaming consoles set up to allow guests to play video games and there are a lot of games available with a library of games.
They also have even more in store in the future for Geeksnglory with regular game tournaments planned . There will even be league play, cosplay contests, streamed game tournaments, video game giveaways and more coming. New business openings, closings & updates - Facebook edition - Nov. 24th
Small Business Saturday is coming up tomorrow so I figured it's a good time to recap some of what going on with some of those local small businesses to help you find a new place to shop. Not all of these are small businesses though but I do hope you find somewhere locally owned and operated to shop this Saturday, on this list or not....

7 Wonders Beauty will be opening for business soon at 10 N. Evergreen Rd. in Spokane Valley. 7 Wonders Beauty says they will be a AVEDA store, salon and spa.
Today is the grand opening of Pigtails Metcantile at 3028 S. Grand Blvd on the South Hill. Pigtails says they will sell vintage, new & used merchandise , gifts, upcycled , scrapbooking , crafts and more.
Spokane Overstock , a growing local business that sells overstocked mattresses and furniture at below retail pricing has moved their Spokane Valley location. They are now open for business in former home of the 50% off Card Shop at 212 N Sullivan, this site is larger then their old home on Montgomery.
A franchise of the Nutrishop chain of supplements catering largely to the fitness scene will open on the South Hill on Dec 1st. The new Spokane Nutrishop will be in the Regal Pond shopping center at 4314 S. Regal suite 202.
Tuxedo Gallery has closed down there Spokane Valley store at 15319 E. Indiana by Krispy Kreme. The Downtown Spokane and Coeur d' Alene Tuxedo Gallery stores however remain open for business.
I actually already mentioned this business was coming but Mac Daddy Pub & Grill has now opened for business at 415 W. Hastings in North Spokane. Hopefully we'll get another post about them up on this site soon.
New fitness business Integritty Fitness has opened for business in Liberty Lake at 22820 E. Appleway Suite B.
L & H Barbershop and Beauty Salon a business that specializes in Hispanic hair cutting and design is now open for business in Spokane Valley at 21 S. Thierman.
Lots of changes at Northtown Mall, not including the seasonal stores that are now opening up. H & M is now open on the second floor of the mall. A new Maurices is now open not far away and down on the first floor Harry Ritchie's Jewelers is also now open for business.
Work is wrapping up just in time for the early December opening of Mathnasium of Spokane South . They can be found in the Lincoln Heights Shopping Center on the South Hill at 2829 E. 29th. I actually already did a post about them too if you search for it above.
Spice & Vine Mercantile had been located inside the Plant Farm in Spokane Valley until a few weeks ago. But, now they are now back open for business on their own at 328 N. Sullivan suite 2 behind Shari's . They sell a selection of spices , oils and more for cooking however they no longer sell craft beer and wine like their old store did.
In case you haven't heard Maryhill Winery's new tasting room in Kendall Yards is now open. They are the first tenant to open of the new Bluff Building at 1303 W. Summit Pkwy.
We'll be doing a post about this soon but Geeks n' Glory is now open for business in Spokane Valley. They are a gaming bar with a full bar and TV's hooked up to gaming consoles all over the place. It's a very cool new business and it can be found at 6710 E. Sprague in Spokane Valley.
Herbal Essence Café in Downtown Spokane has a new owner and they are now transitioning to a new look, new name and some new menu choices. They are now called Wiley's Downtown Bistro and can be found at 115 N. Washington.
Inland Chess Academy has moved and now has a facility for after school classes at 920 N Argonne suite 121 in Spokane Valley.
Dave Smith Motors recently acquired Spokane's only Infiniti car dealership and has since moved it to Spokane Valley. Now called Infiniti of Spokane it can be found at 6711 E. Sprague Ave.
European Wax Center a growing chain of waxing salons is now open for business by The UPS Store on N. Sullivan in Spokane Valley.
You may have seen Mrs. Kalin's Barn as one of the farms up at Green Bluff. But now they are also open year round at a new second location. Their new store is similar to the store at Green Bluff but is called Mrs. Kalin's Fancy Goods & Favorite Things and it can be found a bit closer to home at 8119 N. Division in North Spokane. Lake City Equipment & Event Rental is preparing to open a new second location on Dec. 1st. This location will be at 3520 N. Ramsey Rd. at what I believe used to be a technical program building for NIC.
Loan Depot is planning a new office location soon in Coeur d' Alene. They will be at 2100 Northwest Blvd Suite 350.
Academy of Hip Hop is a new hip hop dance training center that the owner says will be like nothing else Spokane has yet. They will open soon at 12310 N. Division in the Wandermere area.
Siler Chiropractic and Massage is planning to move to a new better location in Spokane Valley. They hope to open around the first of the year at 12211 E. Broadway Suite 3.
Prana Juice Bar & Eatery has closed their doors. They we're on Sunset Ave. in Coeur d' Alene.
AJI BBQ & Sushi is now closed but in it's place will soon be I Love Tofu a new restaurant to will serve authentic Korean cusine and we're guessing probably a lot of tofu. It can be found just north of Northtown Mall at 5204 N. Division.
Morty's Barbershop is now open for business in Spokane's SoDo area at 319 W. 2nd .
Voiage Salon is now open for business in Coeur d' Alene's Midtown area at 754 N. 4th St.
Spokane Organin & Hydroponic Supply is now officially open for business in their new location at 3716 E. Sprague Ave.
Ross Small Engine has opened a second location for all of your small engine repair needs. That new location can be found in North Spokane at 1603 E. Francis.

Nike Store will be tenant of former Downtown Spokane Macy's building
While the retail tenants are not planned to open till at least Spring of next year, construction is still pushing forward at the former Macy's store building in Downtown Spokane. The building is now named The M and will have retail / restaurant tenants on street level and 100+ modern looking apartments on the floors above. And, now we've learned who one of the businesses planning to open there will be.
Building permits have been filed ( but not yet issued as of my writing this ) to build out a portion of the space for a new Nike store. The permit is for a 12,168 square foot space meaning it won't be the only store to open there. However no other tenants have been announced or leaked yet.
This would be the only Nike store in the Inland Northwest. Currently there closest store is in Seattle and an outlet store in Auburn,WA. Nike stores sell the full line of Nike products from shoes to sports apparel and accessories and allow customers shop with training product experts.

Calling all java junkies! New coffee shops opening up around Spokane / Coeur d' Alene
Cedar Coffee now open on N. Monroe
Coeur Coffeehouse was a favorite for many at 701 N. Monroe at the north bank of Monroe St. Bridge. Coeur, however abruptly closed their doors back in April. But coffee is coming back to the space as after some remodeling new owners Igor & Iryna Anisimov have stepped and saved the day so to speak.
The couple, who are natives of Ukraine, have taken over the space and opened an all new coffee house called Cedar Coffee. Of course Cedar Coffee serves an array of espresso drinks using Roast House Coffee but also loose leaf tea's from Davidson's Organic Tea and chai from Mandala Chai Co. which is based here in Spokane. There is even baked goods from Common Crumb Artesian Bakery also from right here in Spokane.

Ladder Coffee & Toast opens in North Spokane
Ladder Coffee & Toast isn't a big place, in fact it's just a drive up coffee stand by a shopping center at 603 W. Hastings Rd in North Spokane. But, for it's owners it's probably the biggest thing ever. That's because their coffee business is like a second chance for co-owner Aaron Rivkin who is a 2 time felon and former heroin addict who came upon the coffee industry a few years ago for a job while turning his life back around. The plan now is to use this new business as a way to people a second chance with job and life skills and even teach community members about how to start a business of their own.
Ladder started as a "pop up " style of coffee shop and this is it's first permanent location. Ladder Coffee & Toast serves a number of unique espresso drinks, teas and chai from Mandala Chai Co. . And, as mentioned in the name ... yeah, toast! A few specialty toast options are also offered.

Evans Brothers Coffee Co. opens new coffee shop in Downtown Coeur d' Alene
Evans Brothers Coffee Co. is a favorite coffee roaster of the Inland Northwest with it's HQ in Sandpoint, their amazing coffees can be tasted at several shops all over our area. But, now Evans Brothers themselves have opened a new coffee house in Downtown Coeur d' Alene.
The new Coeur d' Alene Evans Brothers can be found behind Community 1st Bank at 504 E. Sherman in the former KXLY North Idaho Center building. The official grand opening of this new location isn't until Dec. 1st but the shop is now open for business as of today. They will be open 7 days a week , Mon-Sat 7-6 and Sunday 7-4.
The new Coeur d' Alene location will have many espresso offerings, hand drip coffee, loose leaf tea's reserve coffee's available only for a limited time and much more. Pastries' and breakfast burritos will also be available.

College Avenue Apartments- that hip new apartment building going in just outside Kendall Yards
TCould the development boom of Kendall Yards finally be breaking out of it's borders and bringing improvements to the West Central neighborhood?
If you've driven by the corner of Adams & College you'll see the first such project that we think will just be the beginning of new modern urban development in that area. Sure, Kendall Yards proper is just on the opposite side of College Ave from this project, but on the north side is what will soon be the brand new 3 story College Avenue Apartments .
The new apartment complex will offer 27 apartments owned by Centennial Properties who along with local firm HDG Architecture have designed a new multi-family housing complex that one would expect of larger cities like Seattle or Portland. Vandervert Construction is the contractor and work is happening as we speak on the apartments which will be " market rate ". The units are currently scheduled to be available for lease in Q1 of 2018.
The building as a whole is about 33,000 square feet and the apartments will all range around 1,000 square feet each. All apartments will be 2 bedroom, 2 bath and while we don't know the rental rate just yet HDG's website claims the end user will have " reasonable rental rates ". Limited surface parking will also be available on the back side of the new building ( 27 spaces, so 1 per apartment ).

Fujiyama Japanese Steakhouse to anchor new strip mall in Liberty Lake
In case you missed the news a small chain of Hibachi style grill restaurants is opening a new location in Liberty Lake. The restaurant , which is called Fujiyama Japanese Steakhouse has already been under construction for a little while now. But, while many are aware of the new Fujiyama location it's not all that's being built at the same site.
The building is actually a strip mall, the first class A retail building to be built in Liberty Lake since 2008. The new restaurant will take about 6000 square feet and another about 6000 square feet of space is for lease with 2 separate suites available. There have been no tenants announced for those two spaces however a leasing marketing PDF we've uncovered it shows the eastern side of the new building is already leased.
The building is being built out front of the Liberty Lake Home Depot store at 21801 E. Country Vista. The site will also include a surface parking area and signage for the business coming there, we'll keep you up to date on who's coming and who's not.

Expansion under construction at Argonne Village will bring Snap Fitness and others
Just to the east of Yoke's in Spokane Valley's Argonne Village shopping center construction is underway for a new building. The new 10,500 square foot building will be an expansion of the shopping center being marketed Building J .
The new 10,500 square foot structure will house a few business with about half of the building already leased. The eastern half will become a Snap Fitness gym, similar to all other Snap Fitness locations. The entire building is to be completed sometime in December and is the remaining spaces are up for lease through Kiemle & Hagood with spaces going for $18 per square foot.

New flex space buildings & apartment complex coming just north of Wal-Mart in Post Falls
For the last few years the land along Cecil Rd. about 1/4 miles north of the Mullan Ave. Wal Mart in Post Falls has sat vacant. Part of the area was once a park of baseball diamonds that are now overgrown and to the south is a stalled development of offices with just one building that also has been empty for quite sometime now.
But life will soon return to both parcels. The stalled project, with it's dead end Quad Park Ct. running through it will soon be home to 2 "flex space" buildings. Construction will start soon on the 2 new buildings with a total 16,000 square feet of space, all up for lease. The buildings are to be divided into suites of 1790 to 2640 square feet that can be combined into a larger space. The suites will have a private office area, ADA bathroom and a open insulated warehouse that can be accessed via 16x14 foot roll up doors. Being "flex space" the suites will be open to tenants of both commercial and light industrial uses.
To the north of the flex space buildings where the overgrown baseball diamonds are will be a new apartment complex. That project is currently out to bid and will be called the Crossroads Apartments. The Crossroads Apartment complex will be a HUD insured market rate apartment development with 144 apartments, garages and a clubhouse building.
The area around the Mullan Ave. Wal Mart has really transformed over the last few years with several new commercial buildings springing up. Construction is also underway now to the east of Wal Mart along Mullan for a new location for Coachman Auto Body, Findlay Auto Group recently acquired a building to the west and will open a new commercial truck sales dealership there very soon. There is always lots happening around Post Falls so keep watching this site for more details on all the new developments and all other areas around the Inland Northwest. BIG things are in store....

Strike Zone Arena to open a location in Spokane Valley
Strike Zone Arena has been fun Nerf Dart Battle business in Coeur d' Alene for several years now. And that's not changing as they are still open 7419 N. Government Way. But, the locally owned and operated entertainment business is now planning an all new second location in Spokane Valley.
Strike Zone Arena has begun working on setting up in the former Hollywood Video space at U-City ( 10614 E. Sprague Ave. ). They are planning to be open there on Dec 1st and will have much of the same attractions as the Coeur d' Alene location and then some. The space they are opening in hasn't had a tenant in the last 7 years.

Maryhill Winery to open their new Kendall Yards tasting room on Nov. 18th
Maryhill Winery's first tasting room outside of their Columbia Gorge home is almost complete and will be open for business in just a couple more weeks. That new tasting room will be here in Spokane in the heart of the Kendall Yards business district. The Winery will be the first tenant to open in the new " bluff building " at 1303 W. Summit Pkwy and they will eventually be joined by a Umi Sushi and Fleet Feet Sports in the same building.
Maryhill Winery's Spokane tasting room will be a 5000 square foot space with high quality, affordable wines and a food menu of locally procured small bites all served in the space that features an expansive balcony and 180 degree views of the Spokane River. The cool looking modern building that Maryhill will call home was even designed locally by Uptic Studios.
Founded in 1999, Maryhill Winery has grown to be one of Washington's largest wineries, producing over 80,000 cases annually. The Wineries original site in Goldendale,WA even has a 4000 seat concert venue and that location as whole draws more than 75,000 visitors each year. Maryhill Winery's founders Craig & Vicki Leuthold are both Spokane natives.
The new Spokane tasting room will officially open to the public on Nov 18th with a grand opening celebration the entire weekend of Nov 18th and 19th. During the grand opening weekend guests can sample Maryhill Winery's wines and enjoy live music from blues and soul recording artist Matt Brown. Also, Molly Allen from the "Dave, Ken and Molly" show on 92.9 KZZU will be broadcasting live from the new tasting room on Nov 18th from 5-7 pm.

New strip mall is complete and ready for tenants at Park & Broadway inthe Valley
Construction first started on a new neighborhood strip mall at the corner of Broadway & Park in Spokane Valley all the way back in 2015. But, for an unknown reason construction came to a stand still after the site work was done.
But, now construction has re-started and the new strip mall is almost complete. There has been much speculation about what businesses will open there, but just like a couple of other local projects recently, this project appears to be being built on speculation. This we've come across the marketing documents showing no leased space. However, I'm sure there has been interest.
The new strip mall is located at 806 N. Park and was developed by the Headwater Development Group. The complex is actually 2 buildings, 1 building being just shy of 7500 square feet with as many a six storefronts. A second 1,821 square foot building would likely have just 1 tenant meaning it could be ideal for a restaurant, this space even already has a drive thru.
Two pad sites are also available in the front of the main building facing Park Rd. . Spaces are leasing through NAI Black for $18-$22 per square foot NNN . While a good portion of the surrounding area is residential and light industrial the building is across from a 7-11 and just west of the I-90 / Broadway interchange. Signage and a surface parking lot are also available on site for all future tenants.

The Mascot Pizza to open nearby Gonzaga
A new locally owned & operated pizza place is coming to space nearby Gonzaga. The new place called The Mascot will open in the small building at 730 N. Columbus, not far from the corner of Hamilton and Trent. Local craft beer fans may remember this building being used last as the Ramblin' Road Brewing Co. and is currently undergoing renovations.
Currently The Mascot is set to open towards the end of November with no opening date set as of my writing this. The new restaurant will offer a dine in area with many delicious pizzas and a full bar coming soon.
In addition to pizza The Mascot will also have menu items like sandwiches , salads , dessert pizzas in addition to espresso and specialty coffees. The business is also currently hiring for all positions for their coming opening.

New H&M store at Northtown Mall will open this month
Spokane's second H&M store will open this month in Northtown Mall. After about 5 months of construction the new store will open for business on Nov. 16th at noon.
The store is in a 22,823 square foot space located on the second floor of the mall. It replaced storefronts of Maurices and The Comic Book Shop, both of which have relocated to other spaces within the mall. In all the new store will employ 20.
At the grand opening the first 200 customers will receive " fashion passes " worth $10 to as much as $300. Many items will also be on sale and customers who bring in clothes to recycle can enter a drawing for a gift card.
H&M which stands for Hennes & Mauritz is a Stockholm, Sweden based clothing retailer specializing in trendy " fast fashion " items for men, women and teen's. The company has over 4000 stores in 62 countries around the world and has been aggressively expanding more in the US in recent years. This is the only new location planned for our area and the chain's original store in Spokane opened in 2012 in Spokane Valley Mall where it also remains open on the first floor of that mall.

Lilac City Bakery now open in the University District
An all new bakery is now open for business in what once was White Box Café at 1215 N. Ruby, near Gonzaga in Spokane. The new bakery is called Lilac City Bakery and is a new locally owned & operated business venture from the same owners as Celebrations Bakery which remains open at their two locations in Spokane Valley and the Garland District.
But, Lilac City Bakery has a bit more then Celebrations as Lilac City Bakery also has a limited food menu. The food menu includes good size panini sandwiches, soups and huge salads like a Mediterrian and a Southwest salad.
But fear not as those with a sweet tooth with find more then enough goodies to keep them satisfied. They have cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, artisan breads , muffins, scones, cinnamon rolls and more all baked fresh. They are open 7 days a week Mon- Sat. 8-8 and 9-6 on Sunday and a small indoor dining area is provided.

Monroe Street Grill opens in formerly abandoned Shari's on N. Monroe
It's been 4 years now since the last meal was served in the former Shari's location at 1829 N. Monroe. The whole time since then the building has sat empty and waiting, attracting a few transients camping around the property but no real life. There even was a short lived plan to demolish the structure and construct a new Burger King but that planned fizzled quickly after learning of the conflictions that plan would have with city code in a pedestrian corridor like North Monroe.
But, hope was not lost as LaShay and Lonnie Germain, owners of Top of the Line Burgers in Cheney closed their Cheney restaurant to open a cool new locally owned and operated place fittingly called Monroe Street Grill in the former Sherri's building.
The new Monroe Street Grill opened for business back on the 11th and serve a decent size menu of staples like burgers, seafood , breakfast , hand breaded cod, chicken sandwiches and more in a family friendly environment. They also have a selection of beer and wine and some full dinner entrees including a Prime Rib Dinner on Friday nights starting at 4pm.
I usually keep my opinions out of this blog but please pay them a visit as they have done a great thing opening a local business there and saving that corner. I'm guilty of going to Burger King every now and then but I'd much rather have this place on North Monroe then a cookie cutter fast food drive though any day!

We are now under a week away from the opening of a new Jamba Juice location inside Spokane Valley Mall. This will be the first full Jamba Juice in Spokane, but not the first as a Jamba Juice station is also located inside Safeway at 2507 W. Wellesley. There is also a location in Coeur d' Alene at the Ironwood Square Shopping Center.
The new Valley Mall Jamba Juice will be a small store on the second floor of the mall in between Auntie Anne's Pretzels and Rue21 ( suite 2126 ). The location franchise is held by LoKo Blending Valley who do have plans for further locations at some point in the future but this is the only confirmed location coming at this time.
This new Jamba Juice will open for business at the end of this week. The store is planning an official grand opening on Friday, Nov 3rd with free small smoothies and 10am -noon and a prize wheel. The location will also have the brand's full menu of smoothies and bowls.

Dilapidated Otis Hotel building to be renovated , re-open as a Hotel Indigo
The Otis Hotel has seen better days. In fact in recent years the only life that the building, on the west end of Downtown Spokane, has seen is the not so lively zombie actors of the TV show Z Nation that regularly uses the property for filming.
But, a few months ago the building got a new owner, Curtis Rystadt a Portland based developer who has hit the ground running with renovating the building which is at 110 S. Madison on the West side of Downtown Spokane. Shortly after Rystadt obtained the building it appeared the plan was to renovate the building into a new apartment complex. But, that is not that case we now have confirmation of what we will actually see soon at the Otis Hotel building.
While the building has not been an actual hotel for sometime ( it was apartments before it became vacant ) the building will actually be re-opened as a hotel. Interior demolition is already underway which will be followed by several months of total renovation to convert the building into a franchised location of the Hotel Indigo chain.
The developer has an ambitious plan to have the new hotel open in about 10 months but no set opening dates just yet. In all the new hotel will have 112 guest rooms and some space for retail / restaurants on the ground floor.
This will be the first location of the Hotel Indigo branding in the Spokane area. The brand is a division of InterContinental Hotels Group and features boutique style hotels usually in larger cities. Hotel rooms feature murals and art and public spaces transform with the seasons and highlight the local area. The brand's largest competition is W Hotel and Aloft and they are usually classified as trendy. Founded in 2004 Hotel Indigo has 69 hotels open and several more under construction or in the planning phase.

Indoor Trampoline Park to open at former Hastings in Spokane Valley
Although we don't have many details just yet we have been able confirm that the Flying Squirrel chain of indoor trampoline parks will remodel and open a new location inside the former Hastings store in Spokane Valley. This is the store that was in the Sullivan Square Shopping Center at Sprague & Sullivan.
We'll post the details on this post once we get them, this is because Flying Squirrel themselves can confirm the fact they are planning a Spokane Valley location but haven't yet issued the location or opening date.
Flying Squirrel also recently announced plans to open a location in another abandoned big box store over in Missoula and opened their first location in Calgary just a couple of years ago. Many's Venezuelan Pizza adds location in Spokane Valley
Many's Venezuelan Pizza is already one of Spokane's newest restaurants with their first location opening in July. But, now the cool new pizza place has added a second location out in Spokane Valley.
Many's Pizza's original location is in the food court of River Park Square, they will remain open their but also now at 213 S. University Suite 1 . This is the same place that Cuppa Joe's coffee shop formerly was in and right next door to Just American Desserts. It features space to pick up pizzas to go and a dine in area.
Many's Pizza Spokane Valley location has basic menu of specialty pizzas, build your own pizza, salad, breadsticks, lasagna and even a pizza burger. Mathnasium to fill former Radio Shack space in the Lincoln Heights Shopping Center
Need a little extra help with math? Or, if your like me a lot of help with math? A new business that part of a larger national chain will be opening soon on the South Hill in the Lincoln Heights Shopping Center ( 2829 E. 29th Suite A ). That business is Mathnasium and staff are currently working of prepping the business that will occupy the space that was last used as one of Spokane's last remaining RadioShack locations.
And, it's all to be owned and operated by someone some in the Spokane community may recognize. The owner is Jerry Post, who until soon has been the news director of KXLY 4 News and is married to Kris Crocker-Post an meteorologist also with KXLY 4 News.

Watch for work on a new strip mall on Hastings Rd
First mentioned on this site as a project in development back in June 2016, it appears work has advanced significantly for a new strip mall at 513 E. Hastings Rd. in the Wandermere area. This would be on the north side of Hastings Rd. a short distance east of the Hastings / N. Division intersection.
At the time we discovered the plan we we're told they wouldn't begin construction until they reached 65% leased. So, we find it interesting that it's now be marketed as ready by the Summer of 2018 but there is no mention of what tenants are coming there.
The building will be a little more then 15,000 square feet and replace an eye care clinic that's currently in a stand alone building on the same parcel. It looks like that same clinic will actually relocate into as portion of the new building but that has not been confirmed. New business openings & closings - Facebook edition- Oct. 18th
For those that don't know what these posts are. Basically, I post and share a lot of posts about new businesses on our Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/inlandnorthwestbusinesswatch ) but many of those don't get mentioned on the main inlandnwbusiness.com site. Why? usually it's because I don't have enough info to do a write up on it so I wait till these posts to do a kind of re-cap.
But, first before getting into the Facebook shares there are couple of new businesses I'm watching and waiting to learn more about. Those are-
- Something called Tacos El Charrito is coming to the former Laguna Café space on the South Hill
- Looks like something might finally be coming to the former Hooters in Spokane Valley. I don't know for what yet but the graffiti on the back is gone and it's all been painted and cleaned up.
-The same people behind Celebrations cupcake bakery in the Garland District are planning a new place called Lilac City Bakery in the former White Box Pies space at E. Sharp and Ruby near Gonzaga.
-A place called Chef Lu's Asian Bistro is coming to a storefront in the Lincoln Heights Shopping Center. Also, there Mathnisium is taking over the former RadioShack store space.
- Pho Vietnamese Restaurant is coming soon to Liberty Lake in the space that was last Twisp Café coffee shop.
But, now as promised onto the Facebook new business postings-
I actually already posted about this but work is defiantly progressing on Geeks n' Glory gaming bar at 6710 E. Sprague in Spokane Valley.
Downdraft Brewing in Post Falls is closing it's doors with a final weekend party planned for Nov. 17-19.
Slate Creek Brewing Co, at 1710 N. 4th St #115 in Coeur d' Alene has also closed their door.
The owners of the Spokane based trucking company TDR Logistics have acquired and will be re-opening Roller Valley roller skating rink at 9415 E. 4th in Spokane Valley. The grand opening will be this weekend!!!
My Ipat which does PC & MAC repairs has opened for business in Spokane Valley at 9212 E. Montgomery suite 102 .
Jaret & Joe's Automotive is now open for business in Nine Mile Falls at 6020 Hwy 291.
Mt. Spokane Pediatrics is expanding and will open a new clinic in Spokane Valley around December or January in the office building at 11915 E. Broadway.
QBSI which is a dealer for Xerox with several other offices around the Northwest has opened a new office in Downtown Spokane at 510 W. Riverside ( Cutter Tower building )
The new McDonald's that replaced and older McDonald's at 6321 N. Monroe has opened. It is the first location of the fast food chain to offer touch screen ordering, etc...
Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery has purchased and will soon move into the former SYSA Bingo Hall at 2230 E. Sprague Ave in East Central Spokane.
Lilac Family Eye Care has opened for business at 23505 E. Appleway suite 106 in Liberty Lake.
Spirit Pruners will re-locate their business to the historic former service station at 2425 E. Broadway in Spokane.
The Mascot Pizza is a new pizza place coming soon to the former site of Ramblin' Road Brewing Co. at 730 N. Columbus in Spokane.
Instant Tax Solutions is busy moving their HQ from Post Falls over to an all new building at 3829 Schreiber Way in Coeur d' Alene.
Advanced Auto Parts has opened a new location in Spokane Valley at 4630 E. Sprague Ave.
Eye Consultants NW has relocated their eye care / Lasik clinic to 9911 N. Nevada St. suite B in North Spokane.
Jazzercise South Hill is moving to 2727 S. Mt. Vernon suite 3a .
Serendipity Estates is a cool new estate sales place now open at 602 W. Garland in the Garland District.
Orange Theory Fitness is working on opening a new franchised location to 410 E. Holland Ave. Suite E in North Spokane.
Café 19 which is operated by Mangia Catering Company has opened in the food service space at the Liberty Lake Business Park ( the Telect / Insight / B of A merchant systems complex )
Walker's Furniture has opened a new location in North Spokane at 7503 N. Division.

Park Lodge Restaurant details, plus several other eateries coming to Kendall Yards
Spokane's restaurant scene has been getting noticed, even by Food & Wine Magazine who recently described Spokane as " long past ready for it's close up " . And, one of the prime spots for dining in Spokane is Kendall Yards.
As you may recall some time back we mentioned Indaba Coffee was planning a new location in a new building at Kendall Yards. And, that building is to be shared with another new restaurant that at that time wasn't named. Now, we are learning about that new restaurant too, here is the details on that, thanks to Kendall Yards' Facebook page-
It will be called Park Lodge and will be a restaurant from Chef Phillip Stanton . Park Lodge will be chef-driven comfort food with an emphasis on seasonal and local produce. There will be a wide variety of menu items from traditional American cuisine to comfort foods from various cultures.
We are planning reaching out soon to get for more info on the new Park Lodge restaurant so keep watching for even more info on that.
But here is what other restaurants are coming soon to Kendall Yards-
Indaba Coffee will open a third location in coming months in the new building by the corner of Summit & Nettleton. Also, in that same building will be Hello Sugar a cool new donut shop.

Board & Brush chain of DIY wood workshops coming to Spokane
Board & Brush is growing exponentially with new locations coming to cities all around the nation. Currently the Wisconsin based company has no locations open in all of Washington or Idaho, but that will soon change. That's because the company has secured a franchise owner to open a location here in Spokane soon.
Board & Brush are instructor led wood sign workshops with wine. The company teaches customers woodshop techniques and skills while allowing them to take home a brand new custom wooden home décor sign. The concept is similar in a way to the popular paint & sip painting studios that are almost anywhere today.

Because you asked... updates on the North Spokane Costco & that new building on 57th
Lately there have been a couple of planned construction projects people have been sending me e-mails to ask about. I figured it's about time to address them as best I can, so here it is...
Any updates on the new North Spokane Costco?
Actually yes, it's looking like we will see construction sooner rather then later now as just yesterday the Spokane County's website shows the permits for the building and adjacent fuel station as issued. This means the contractor Lydig Construction will likely start work at the site very soon. No update on when it might open for business however.
This new Costco is planned to be a 167,000 square foot store to replace a smaller store within the city limits on N. Division. The plan had also been held by a neighbor who filed an appeal of their environmental findings but per a recent article in the Journal of Business that has now been settled.
What is going into the building at 57th & Mt. Vernon on the South Hill?
About all I can say is... businesses ( big help I am, huh? ) . The building is a speculative expansion of the strip mall immediately to the east.
It is a 6,900 square foot structure that has been under construction now for a while. It will have 5 business bays of various sizes but of course some businesses may take more then one space so it's hard to say how many businesses will open there.
Currently all of the spaces remain up for lease with no one for sure planning to open there. However, I'm sure it won't take to long till we here of at least one new business there, and I, just like all of you are hoping for some new cool restaurant or something but we'll all be waiting for a little bit more time.
Is there still a Popeye's coming to Spokane?
After sitting in the line for over an hour last night to order at the newly opened Popeyes in Post Falls I think it's given another location is coming to our area. So yes, Popeyes is still planning a store on the northeast side of the N. Division / Lyons Ave. intersection in North Spokane.
I have un-officially been told construction will start there within the next couple of weeks with about a 4 month build time. But, this too is not set in stone so again we're waiting right along side you...

Any updates on the new North Spokane Costco?
Actually yes, it's looking like we will see construction sooner rather then later now as just yesterday the Spokane County's website shows the permits for the building and adjacent fuel station as issued. This means the contractor Lydig Construction will likely start work at the site very soon. No update on when it might open for business however.

Construction to finally start on new combo hotel on the West Plains
We reported in Feb. of plans in development for the first duel branded hotel in the Spokane market. Now we have received the details that construction is about the start on project which will be built on the West Plains and replace the dated Airway Express Inn at 3809 S. Geiger Blvd just off of I-90.
Demolition will commence first on the Airway Express Inn first with construction on the new hotel likely to begin by the end of October. This new hotel will be both a Sleep Inn and a Mainstay Suites, a concept some companies are using more and more actively. The current plan is to have Sleep Inn / Mainstay hotel open for business by July of 2018.
Construction will be done by Consolidated Construction Co,Inc a full service design/build firm headquartered in Appleton,Wi.. H&H Hospitality of Spokane is the owner and it will be operated by the Lighthouse Hospitality Group.
Here is what the new hotel will feature-
- 87 guest rooms in 51,000 square feet of space.
- Indoor pool
- Exercise room
- Community room
- Guest laundry facilities
- Breakfast area
And, a "marketplace" c-store.
The hotel will have both the Sleep Inn and Mainstay Suites branded rooms under one roof ( about half/half room wise ) . But it will all be ran from one single lobby / front desk. Both brands are part of Choice Hotels a Rockford, MD. based company that has multiple other brands and over 6000 hotels worldwide in several different countries.

The Yuppy Puppy to open a Downtown location
Construction is underway for The Yuppy Puppy's new location in Downtown Spokane.
The Yuppy Puppy will occupy the storefront at 830 W. Sprague Ave. on the northeast side of the Sprague & Lincoln intersection, right in the heart of Downtown Spokane. The location is prime across from the Davenport Hotel and just a few short blocks south of River Park Square.
The new store will feature full service dog grooming with 2 self service dog washing stations. There also will be a good amount of retail sales space, similar to their North Spokane store. The only thing the Downtown location won't have is a doggy daycare service as the zoning there prohibits it. Currently there isn't an opening date set just yet but it is coming.

Noodle Express coming to Airway Heights
Noodle Express the Spokane based chain of noodle restaurants has it sights set on a new location in Airway Heights. This will be the chain's first new store in quite sometime, the restaurant is a more fast casual concept on their sister restaurant The Mustard Seed.
Development of the new Airway Heights Noodle Express in on-going so we don't have an opening date just yet. But, what we do know is the project is currently out for bid to construct a new restaurant in a leased storefront at 10408 US 2 Suite 1. This is part of the Crosspointe Plaza shopping development by Wal-Mart. Noodle Express will be in 2122 Square feet of space in the west end cap of the same building that also houses Starbucks.
The construction planned at the space will allow the new restaurant to have a dine in area, small patio and even a drive up window. This will be the chain's eighth location with 2 other stores elsewhere in the Spokane area, 1 in Hayden and 3 in Montana. Noodle Express has served up freshly prepared noodle bowls and much more since opening in 1992. This is the only known planned new location.

Katerra to build large new factory in Spokane Valley
Menlo Park, CA based Katerra will start construction very soon on a large new factory in Spokane Valley that will create hundreds of new jobs. The facility will produce mass timber products including a new technology called cross laminated timber ( CLT ) and Glulam .
In addition to large scale timber product production Katerra also provides services in the construction, development and design industry. Much of the timber products produced by the Spokane Valley will be used in Katerra's many projects all around the country.
Katerra will even use the CLT product in construction of the planned Community Cancer Fund sponsored hospitality center planned to be built near Kootenai Health in Coeur d' Alene. CLT is a more environmentally friendly product as it is made from wood scrap which is compressed and glued together tightly. This also allows the timber product to be produced from smaller diameter trees and is beginning to become more widely accepted in the construction industry
The new Spokane Valley Katerra factory will open in the first quarter of 2018 with construction to start soon. It will have 250,000 square feet off of Barker Rd. just south of Trent Ave. . A second factory from a company called Progress Rail is also rumored on land adjacent to the Katerra site but we'll have more on that soon. The factory will create 150 construction specific jobs initially with growth and expansion planned on the horizon, they hope to soon have as many as 300 employed here and operate a distribution center on the same parcel of land.

Lighthouse Import Auto Parts which had been in Coeur d' Alene has been sold and has moved into a storefront at 21 S. Thierman Rd. in Spokane Valley ( same building as L&H, mentioned above )
Chain fitness business Orangetheory Fitness will open a second Spokane location soon. This time in North Spokane at 410 E. Holland Ave Suite E.
Forza Coffee Company has officially opened their 3rd Spokane area location in the Matilida Building at 1028 N. Hamilton.
Eye Guys Optical has moved over to their new larger "flagship" location at 8220 N. Cornerstone St. Suite A in Hayden. They are also joined in the same building by a new Little Caesars Pizza location.
Liberty Lake Wine Cellars is now open for business at 23110 E. Knox Ave. in Liberty Lake. They moved their from a smaller home based location.
KJ Pottery has opened their new pottery studio in the Garland District at 3908 N. Lincoln St.
Scout Real Estate has opened a second office location. This time on the second floor of 154 S. Madison above the Steel Barrel Tap Room.
A Tri-Cities based brewery is moving to Liberty Lake. Snow Eater Brewing Co. has agreed to lease space in a new building at 2325 N. Mackenzie Ln.
MSD Irish Dance Academy has opened and started classes at 1007 W. Carlisle Ave in Spokane.
The former Pit Stop bar space in Post Falls has become House of Cards Bar & Grill . The new restaurant can be found at 830 N. Spokane St. .
Wright Way Beauty Supply an African American hair product retailer has opened for business at 2103 N. Division in Spokane.
A Good Feet shoe store has opened at 15106 E. Indiana Suite B, by the Spokane Valley Mall.
Sandpoint based Evans Brothers Coffee Roasters is opening a new coffee shop in Downtown Coeur d' Alene. It will likely open next month by the corner of 5th & Sherman Ave.
T-Mobile has opened a new location on the ground floor of the Crescent Court Building at 707 W. Main in Downtown Spokane. Not mentioned on Facebook but mentioned here, T-Mobile is also planning 2 more Spokane locations. One inside Spokane Valley Mall and the other at 11510 E. Sprague by Domino's Pizza in Spokane Valley.
Orthocare Express a walk in clinic of Northwest Orthopedic Specialists has opened 12410 E. Sinto Ave. Suite 201 in Spokane Valley. They offer treatment for sports injuries , neck & back pain , joint pain and more.
Winescape Winery is a new boutique winery and wine tasting room set to open in November at 6011 E. 32nd in Spokane Valley.

Polka Dot Pottery a local chain of self painting pottery studios will a new location soon in Spokane Valley Mall in-between Hop Jack's and H&M on the first floor of the mall.
Shamus's Sandwich Shoppe's new Airway Heights location is now open. It can be found in the former Buckhorn Inn building at 13311 W. Sunset Hwy.
Sunwest Automotive Engines is now up and running in their new home at 210 S. Broad St. in Medical Lake.
The Yuppy Puppy has announced they will soon open a new location in Downtown Spokane near the Davenport Hotel. They however are tight lipped about the exact location of the new place.
After what seems like a lot of delay, we're seeing some indication that the indoor trampoline park chain Flying Squirrel will be opening soon in Spokane. But despite activity on Facebook they have yet to say exactly where they will be other then it will be in Spokane Valley.
Seasonal business Halloween Express is about to open in the former Hasting store at 1704 W. Wellesley in the Shadle Park area.
Tot Shots Photo Studio which as the name would imply is a photo studio specializing in children's photos will open soon in Spokane Valley at 106 N. Evergreen.
Idaho Central Credit Union's new branch in Hayden,ID is now open. It can be found at 8760 N. Government Way.
