Here are some area businesses that are getting creative to stay strong...

Recently I put a call out on our social media looking for local businesses who are doing new and creative things to get through these trying times. I want to mention as many as possible that responded, in addition to a few more I've heard of myself recently. So, here we go...

Lohman's Home Furnishings

Lohman's is temporarily closed but they have a unique story as they are a very new business, one that I don't think many even knew about yet. Lohman's Home Furnishings opened in March inside Spokane Valley Mall and obviously didn't plan for anything like a pandemic to strike in their first days open.

Please, if you're looking for furniture after the stay home order is lifted look them up. Unlike many furniture stores they are locally owned and operated and sell living room furniture, dining sets, recliners, beds , entertainment centers and home accents.

In the mean time, check out their website at http://lohmanshomefurnishings.com

Restaurants!

There are now several resources for where to find restaurants open for take out and delivery in the Spokane area. Among them are Shawn O'Donnell's American Grill & Pub , Cole's Bakery & Cafe, Hogwash Whiskey Den and Italian Kitchen.

Many restaurants in our area are still open doing take out, curbside pick up or delivery. And, while there are several choices for food delivery in the Spokane area please keep in mind the local choice, Treehouse Food Deliveries. Check out what delicious food they can bring to you at http://www.treehousespokane.com

Wander Spokane

Speaking of food, did you know there is a local tour company in Spokane that does food, beer and wine tours in addition to urban wilderness hikes. They offer a unique service that helps both locals and visitors alike.

Currently they are temporarily not operating tours due to the pandemic but I encourage you to look them up as these tour groups will help bring business back to some of our city. And, it can get you out of the house once it is okay to do so. Check them out online at http://www.wanderspokane.com

Greenacres Vendor Mall

Located in Spokane Valley at 16814 E. Sprague says they are " frantically building ecommerce sites " to support their businesses. They are in a unique place, being a vendor mall with over 14,000 square feet of space they are actually home to over 200 "mini-business ". They are currently doing what they can by selling via their social media, including offering gift cards.

Check them out when all this over, they also host flea markets during the warmer months, so please send them some love. And, check out their website at- http://greenacresvendormall.com

Up North Distillery and The Bee's Knees Whiskey Bar

Post Falls based Up North Distillery is still up and running with spirits available to be picked up curbside at their facility, which can be found at 846 N. Boulder Ct ( just off of Seltice ) in Post Falls. For more info, check out their website at http://www.upnorthdistillery.com

The same owners also opened a cool new whiskey bar not long before this occurred in Hayden. That bar is called the The Bee's Knees Whiskey Bar and can be found at 324 W. Lancaster Suite E. They are planning to do cocktails to go on Fridays and an online whiskey club.
For more info, check out their website at http://www.beeskneeswhiskeybar.com

Workstory Photography

Spokane based Workstory Photography is doing product photography to produce an high quality image to allow businesses to sell online or for better promotional materials. They say they can meet 100% white background requirements for Amazon sellers.

This is in addition to all the other services they already provide, check them out online at http://workstoryphotography.com

River City Kitchen

Spokane is home to many independent small food service businesses, and I suspect more are coming if some of the laid off workers decide to start their own businesses. River City Kitchen is here to help those businesses, they are a commercial kitchen that is located inside the Spokane Inter-modal Center in Downtown Spokane.

Not only are they there to provide the space and equipment needed, they are suspending rent payments for their tenants through April, May and June at least.

For more info, check out their website at http://rivercitykitchen.com

The Magic Lantern

Local art house theater The Magic Lantern at 25 W. Main is still showing movies. No, not in their theater but via streaming service rentals on their website http://magiclanternonmain.com . Funds raised by the rentals go back to support their theater and it's employees.

Ramada at Spokane Airport

Many of us are working at home now, but sometimes some work needs privacy or an important call demands time to be away from kids. The Ramada at Spokane Airport, which can be found at 8909 W. Airport Dr. is now offering a " telecommunication day rate " to allow guests to rent rooms from 7a-7p for $50.

And, so much more...

These aren't all ether, Spokane is strong and creative community, these are just the ones that either reached out to me recently or one's I could think of deserving a mention.
