As of the beginning of this week crews began a paving project on N. Monroe St. from Summit Pkwy, but don't let that scare you away from the many local businesses that dot the street going north from Downtown Spokane. In fact, north of the construction area will soon be a handful of exciting new businesses you might want to keep an eye on. They are-
Spokane Record Store going into 1401 N. Monroe
I don't have all the details yet but from what we hear, Spokane Record Store will be a new retail record store opening sometime around October of this year. This is a 2800 SF store that will be in one of the new suites at the former Empire Office Furniture building.
Lunarium going into 1925 N. Monroe Suite A
Lunarium isn't technically a new business but until now they had been sharing a space on S. Grand Blvd with the local bakery Twenty Seventh Heaven. By day the main business would sell baked goods, and the evening Lunarium would open as a cool night-time coffee shop.
Twenty Seventh Heaven recently announced their plans to relocate to a storefront in Downtown Spokane, and Lunarium is going out on its own on... N. Monroe.
Lunarium is planning to open this fall at 1925 N. Monroe in the Atomic Threads Boutique's former location (they are still in business at 1905 N. Monroe). On their social media Lunarium says they will be bringing new brewing methods, a dinner menu, comfier seating, a conference room, stage for live events and the same late-night hours!
Rejuvenate relocates to new 2907 N. Monroe location
Rejuvenate is a locally owned and operated retailer of vintage, mid-century modern, antiques, refurbished collectables, home decor and more. They are actually planning to open TODAY Sept 1st at 2907 N. Monroe after doing work to the building which formerly held a business called Almost Antiques.
The new space is not far from their old location, but that location won't be sitting empty, because their old space will be the new business below...
Gabriel's Guitars to open at 3221 N. Monroe
Tucson,AZ based Gabriel's Guitars is planning their new second location in the former Rejuvenate space at 3221 N Monroe, here in Spokane. Gabriel's is planning to open for business with an official grand opening on Nov. 5th and a possible soft opening at a yet to be determined date.
Gabriel's Guitars says they will offer guitar repair, retail guitars, consignment and tube amp repair.
Also, don't forget to stop by the many other businesses of N. Monroe St., including during the weekly Emerson-Garfield neighborhood Farmers Market held every Friday from 3-7pm by the IEL Adult Education Center at 2310 N. Monroe. It'll be held through Sept. 30th.
